Wallpaper can kill the sale of your home and add months to the time it takes to get a contract. I always advise on my "Walk & Talk" consultations to take the wallpaper down. It will result in lower offers (by at least $10,000) - because most young buyers will have to remove it themselves. Wallpaper = work and buyers don't want to deal with it.Â
Here is a visual example of a house we staged in central NJ that went on the market with the wallpaper and didn't sell. The wallpaper was then taken down, staged with younger looking furniture, and relisted.Â
